Aliwal North



This town is situated on the famous Orange River and is the centre of a prosperous farming community whose main products are wool, maize, wheat, beef and dairy. The town’s principle assets are two popular hot mineral springs. A series of mineral springs produce water at a temperature of around 34℃.

How to get there



Follow the R56 from Middelburg through to Molteno. From Molteno take the R391 and R58, (Odometer 121km) or take the R56 via the N6 through to Aliwal North, (Odometer 128km).
Follow the R56 from Pietermaritzburg through to Elliot, then take the R58 up through to Aliwal North, (Odometer 646km).
