Steynsburg to Molteno
Hillmoor Farm, a working eco-friendly sheep farm dedicated to producing quality choice lamb, is home to Stone Cottage Guest House. Originally built in 1896 by Fred Southey, Stone Cottage was recently restored by the current owners Ivan and Brenda Dell and is an ideal getaway offering luxurious yet rustic self-catering accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The Stone Cottage Guest House has 3 en-suite bedrooms with an open plan kitchen and living area. There is also a separate sunroom / studio for those who want to escape for some quiet time, play board games or cuddle up on the couch with a good book to read. Meals can be ordered by prior arrangement with the owners when booking. Wi-Fi is available on the farm. It does snow and get cold here in Winter, but we are geared up for it with electric blankets and a cosy wood burner in the living area.
Hillmoor Stone Cottage is all about peace, tranquility, stargazing, bird watching, walking, hiking, cycling, board games, reading and just good old stress-free relaxing. Other activities in the Steynsburg area, such as 4x4 routes, MTB routes, Game Hunting or Photo Tours is by prior arrangement.
Hillmoor Farm’s other business called Karoo Tenderveld, is well known for producing top quality Karoo Lamb. The animals are raised under natural veld conditions, thereby enhancing the quality of the meat resulting in genuine “Karoo lamb” flavour i.e. totally organically produced.
At Stone Cottage Guest house we guarantee that you will want to rise early in the morning and experience the true Karoo beauty of nature and farm life combined.
