Is a beautiful place with pretty scenery and is also a farming community made up of small holdings and large scale farming operations. Perfect place to stay to if you want to be out of the “City” but close enough to explore Pietermaritzburg and the surrounding areas.


Places of interest include Tala Game Reserve, the African Bird of Prey Sanctuary and the Natal Lion Park. Other nearby activities can be found in Pietermaritzburg or head down towards Durban.

How to get there

Follow the R56 from Middleburg all the way through to Thornville and you’ll turn right onto the P338, (Odometer 763km).
From Pietermaritzburg you go via the N3 to Camperdown, taking exit 57 from N3 then taking the R103 to Norman Stone Rd, (Odometer 24.1km).
When Coming from Durban go via N3 through to Camperdown, (Odometer 55.7km). Or you may take the King Cetshwayo Hwy/M13 and N3, (Odometer 57.9km).
