Middelburg Karoo - Asemskep Guest Farm - Hike up the infamous Compassberg on your way to Nieu-Bethesda. Approximately 25km drive.
Schoombee - Hillston Farm - Hikers can go on all sorts or trails as well as visit the 100+ year old Boer War Barracks, now used as the shearing shed for our Merino sheep and Angora goats.
Schoombee - Karoo Ridge Conservancy - Being on the edge of the Great Escarpment, Karoo Ridge Conservancy has the advantage of falling into 2 different vegetation types, the False Upper Karoo Veld and Karroid Merxmuellera Mountain Veld. This makes it absolutely perfect for hiking. The Great Brak River runs through the property and this adds the river thicket element with Acacia trees, wetlands and reedbeds.
Schoombee - Mount Melsetter - a stunning place to go for a hike on one of the many trails left behind by past travellers seeking adventure.
Steynsburg - Croyden Cottage - Take a day trip and hike up into the stunning mountains of the surrounding areas into the beautiful valleys.
