The books in the library are, in the main, to be found on the shelves in the Library, but also a selection of books are in each bedroom, and on the shelves flanking the lovely stone fireplace in the main Lounge. Mount Melsetter has much of interest – a great place to get away to!
Mount Melsetter
Mount Melsetter has been a working Karoo farm, since 1877,and remains so today. The Karoo House, Mount Melsetter’s original farmstead, is a gracious country home in the heart of the Karoo, elegantly comfortable for guests and warmly hosted by Mike and Candy Ferrar. The Karoo has a rich heritage - palaeontological, historical, technical, architectural, floral and faunal, with information available in the House's Library, and from Mike and Candy too.
The Melsetter Library is a lovely tranquil room, under the gaze of a handsome Fallow Deer Buck. The library contains a wide selection of Fact and Fiction, reflecting a broad interest in spheres biographical, political, historical, travel, sport, some humour, and more, together with classic and contemporary fiction for both young and old.
